Every large kitchen starts with something rarely seen: its equipment. Industrial stoves, refrigerators, stainless-steel tables, and dishwashers are the backbone of every hotel, restaurant, and catering business.
On 23 May 2025, a PT APM Group team travelled to Luoyan, Fuzhou, in China's Fujian Province, with a single mission: to find a manufacturing partner for a commercial kitchen equipment project. They were looking not merely for a supplier but for a strategic partner ready to grow together, with APM's warehouse and factory in Karawang as its foothold in Indonesia.
The stakes are high. APM Group is a strategic partner of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and has been entrusted with procuring equipment for **1,500 SPPG kitchens across **Indonesia. The visit to Fuzhou is a step to ensure that every one of those kitchens is built with reliable equipment.

A Fast-Growing Market
Demand for commercial kitchens in Indonesia is surging, and the biggest driver is the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. Each Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) is an industrial-scale kitchen that cooks thousands of portions every day.
The scale is huge. In January 2026, the National Nutrition Agency recorded around 19,000 SPPGs in operation, with a target of 32,000 SPPGs serving 82.9 million beneficiaries. Every new kitchen needs a complete set of equipment, from stoves and ovens to refrigeration and dishwashing systems.

Beyond MBG, demand is also coming from a growing number of hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and caterers. For APM, these figures are not a market projection but real work: 1,500 SPPG kitchens that must be equipped with quality equipment, in large volumes, on time, and at competitive prices.
From the Factory Floor to the Showroom
The survey began where the products are born: the production floor. The APM team walked along the CNC sheet-metal processing line, where stainless-steel plates are cut, bent, and assembled into work tables, cabinets, and equipment frames.

From there, the team moved on to the showroom. Rows of upright refrigerators, chest freezers, refrigerated tables, and display showcases were inspected one by one, from the door hinges to the glass coating. The team also witnessed a trial run of a conveyor-type dishwasher, the heart of a high-capacity kitchen.

What was being assessed was not just the products. The survey weighed production capacity, quality consistency, and the prospective partner's readiness for a long-term partnership with Indonesia. On the wall of one factory, a slogan seemed to sum up the standard being sought: integrity builds quality, and quality wins the market.

Karawang as a Foothold
This partnership does not stop at the port. APM's warehouse and factory in Karawang serve as the meeting point between Chinese manufacturing technology and Indonesian market needs.

Karawang was not chosen without reason. As one of Indonesia's largest industrial areas, Karawang is connected by toll road to Jakarta and close to major ports, so distribution to different regions can move quickly.
The model is complementary. Chinese partners bring production expertise and scale, while APM provides the warehouse and factory base, the distribution network, and an understanding of the local market. This way, equipment for 1,500 SPPG kitchens can be prepared and shipped from Karawang to every corner of Indonesia in less time.
The Next Step
The visit to China is the beginning of an industrial bridge. On one side stands a factory with years of production experience; on the other, an Indonesian market that is building tens of thousands of new kitchens.
APM Group stands in the middle, with Karawang as its foothold. As a strategic partner of BGN, APM carries a clear responsibility: to deliver 1,500 SPPG kitchens ready to cook for millions of Indonesian children. From Fuzhou to Karawang, and then across the country, every piece of equipment chosen today will serve nutritious meals tomorrow.
